Q:Which paper product is best for photo?
A:All of our Koala photo paper will easily produce photos, so the choice will depend on which surface finish you prefer. Resin coated paper is easy to process and dry flat and would be a good choice for starting out.
Q:What is cast coated photo paper?
A:In the coating process, the paper goes through hot metal rollers after the coating has been applied. The rollers press and heat the coating which causes the paper to become glossy with a flat surface. Due to this method of coating there are no pores on the face of the paper and pigment inks can only “sit” on the surface. On many occasions this causes ink on a freshly printed paper to smear when rubbed. The cast coated photo paper is excellent for dye based inks and has a lower quality results with pigment inks. Some ink manufacturers started adding adhesives to their pigment inks to make it compatible with cast coated papers and prevent smearing.
Q:What is the difference between cast coated photo paper and resin coated photo paper?
A: Cast coated photo paper is cheap & good color performance & good water resistance. Color won’t fade easily. The base-paper is fluffy and will deform when get water sometimes. Most of them do not support pigment ink .Resin coated photo paper is high-grade photo paper. It is expensive, excellent color performance and waterproof .With coating in both side , most of them could support both dye and pigment ink. The base paper is tightly . So with the same weight . RC photo paper is 0.02-0.03mm thinner than cast coated photo paper .
